Still in Jackson MN. We were walking around the park and talking to our rv neighbor who happens to have a farm 10 miles down the road. He is retired from farming but took us on a tour this afternoon on his 4×4. He rents his land out to another farmer. Saw 600 pigs in a barn. Could not see them all to take a picture but sure could smell them! It was interesting to learn about a different way of life. Then saw some cute little calfs. Nice easy day. On our way to Rapid City tomorrow.
Nice easy ride today. Saw a sign that said SPAM museum. Who knew there was a museum for SPAM in Austin, MN and it was free. Nice little CLEAN town. Museum was actually amusing and interesting. Had no idea how many kinds of SPAM there are. Did you know that Guam is the biggest consumer of SPAM. You know now. Spent about an hour.
Also, this was our neighbor last night
Tomorrow is a down day. One of the campers invited us out to their farm for a tour. It’s about 2 miles away. We are supposed to go on their quads. The have 3 dogs so they must be ok!
This was an “oops” day. The plan was to pack up, drive about 50 miles to a national cheese museum (Wisconsin is all about cheese) then drive about another 200 miles and see where we were. Except started bs with the neighbors, then Alan could not find his credit card, just got late so we thought we would unhitch go to the museum then spend another night here. Great plan except about 20 minutes into our drive someone (maybe me) realized museum closed Mon, Tue and Wed. Bugger. So shopped at Walmart. Then found Besse the cow. We will start over tomorrow!
We are at a KOA in Milton, WI. One of the nicest KOA’s we have been at. Put a Wisconsin magnet on the refrigerator today. Today was a “down” day. Just sat outside, read a book and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Last night we slept in Ohio so we were able to add another state magnet to our refrigerator. Also, saw our first bit of wildlife. It was a raccoon digging through the trash. ha!
Went on our first outing today to the RV museum in Elkhart, IN
and finally:
I drove today. Nice easy 400 mile day. Stopped 2 miles from Indiana in another truck stop. I have decided that on the days I drive Alan should go spend the day in the tow vehicle! He is a back seat driver sitting up front!!!! We were on I80 all day. Nice scenery along the way especially the Pocono’s. No pictures yet but soon. Tomorrow we will probably look for our first camp ground. We shall see what tomorrow brings.
Lots of traffic when we started out. But once we hit I80 through Pennsylvania much nicer. Lovely country sides. Almost looked like a bit of Amish country. We are at a Travel America (TA) truck stop tonight. We will probably do the same tomorrow and Sunday. We will see where that brings us and see if we will stop for two days to do some riding. Hope to have an updated picture of our RV posted soon. Don’t have a nice one yet to post.
We are finally on the road! 4 days late but the joy is in the journey (once it starts!) We are a little nervous but looking forward to our new adventure. The dogs look relieved that they get to come and are already settling into their assigned spots. We will miss everyone while away but time will fly and we will be back before you know it. Our love to all who encouraged us to take this journey. Keep us in your thoughts for a safe journey as we will keep all of you in our thoughts ❤️
